The public liability insurance policy will provide indemnity in respect of legal liability for accidental bodily injuries or damages to the property of members of the public. The company at sometime or the other becomes liable to members of the public for payment of compensation for injuries sustained or for the damage to their property through the negligence of the employees of the company.

The company may also be liable for an accident to members of the public as a result of the defect in methods of work, machinery or plant, which are used in connection with business.

• Death or bodily injuries and illness to any person not being a member of the company’s staff or any person engaged in the service of the company.
• Damage to property belonging to or held in trust by or in the custody or control of the company or any member of its staff.
