This policy covers loss or damage by fire, lightening, explosion, storm, tempest, flood, bursting or overflowing of water tanks, apparatus or pipes, earthquake, aircraft and other aerial devices or articles dropped therefrom, riot and civil commotion, the works and all unfixed materials delivered to or intended for site. The policy also provides cover for losses following theft, subsidence collapse and accidental damage.

The policy covers damage to:

• Contract works or temporary works on the site.
• Temporary buildings on the site or used in conjunction with the contract.
• Constructional plants, tools and equipment.
• Employees' personal effects and tools during the period of the contract.

The policy is often extended to a twelve month maintenance period. Also it could cover:

• Removal of debris
• Temporary storage of materials designed for contract site
• Architects and Surveyors' fees
